YNW Melly Charged For Witness Tampering Days Before Retrial

YNW Melly is facing a new charge of witness tampering, mirroring a similar charge against his co-defendant, YNW Bortlen, in their ongoing double-murder trial. This development comes shortly after Bortlen was slapped with the same charge. The prosecutors have confirmed this new charge against Melly, which was filed in Miami-Dade County.

Melly's legal team is gearing up for a court hearing scheduled for Friday. They plan to challenge the prosecutors, alleging that they have been withholding crucial evidence related to the lead investigator of the case. Melly's attorney, Raven Liberty, expressed her concerns about the new charge. She stated that this move by the State Attorney's office is a clear and desperate effort to divert public attention. She highlighted a deposition where an Assistant State Attorney accused the case's main detective and prosecutor of committing felonies by hiding and falsifying evidence that could harm the state's position.

As of now, the jury selection for the retrial is set to commence next week. Broward Circuit Judge John J. Murphy will decide if the recent developments will influence the case.
