Lil Durk Remains Behind Bars After Bail Denied in Murder-For-Hire Case

Lil Durk, born Durk Derrick Banks, was denied bail on May 8 in his federal murder-for-hire case.
Despite his legal team's offer of a $2 million bond package including $1 million in cash, $900,000 in real estate equity, home detention, and 24/7 private security the judge ruled that he must remain in custody until his trial.
The charges stem from an alleged 2022 plot to kill rapper Quando Rondo, which resulted in the death of Rondo's cousin, Saviay’a Robinson.
Prosecutors claim Durk financed and orchestrated the attack as retaliation for the 2020 murder of his protégé, King Von.
While the court has excluded Durk's lyrics from the evidence, the prosecution continues to pursue the case based on other materials.
Durk's trial is scheduled to begin on October 14.
Durk reportedly smiled at about 20 supporters in the courtroom as the judge delivered the ruling.
