July 'Hottest Month Recorded In History' As Earth Enters Global Boiling

We're bringing you a crucial update on the global climate situation.

According to the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, the era of global warming has ended and we have entered the era of "global boiling". This statement comes as scientists confirm that July 2023 is on track to be the hottest month ever recorded.

Guterres emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, "Climate change is here. It is terrifying. And it is just the beginning." He further added that it is still possible to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels and avoid the worst of climate change, but only with immediate and dramatic climate action.

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the EU’s Copernicus Earth observation programme have confirmed that global temperatures this month have shattered records. This rise in temperature, driven by the burning of fossil fuels, has led to more extreme weather conditions.

Guterres urged political leaders to take swift action, stating, "The air is unbreathable, the heat is unbearable, and the level of fossil fuel profits and climate inaction is unacceptable. Leaders must lead. No more hesitancy, no more excuses, no more waiting for others to move first. There is simply no more time for that."

The WMO Secretary-General, Petteri Taalas, echoed Guterres's sentiments, stating, "The need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is more urgent than ever before. Climate action is not a luxury but a must."

The steady rise in global average temperatures has led to more extreme weather conditions, causing havoc worldwide, particularly in poorer countries least responsible for emissions. This serves as a compelling wake-up call for all of us to take urgent action to mitigate the effects of climate change.
