DJ Akademiks Suggests Drake May Be Sending a Message to Kendrick Lamar on Lil Wayne’s "Tha Carter VI"

DJ Akademiks sparked rumors of a surprise aimed at Kendrick Lamar on Tha Carter VI during a June 5 livestream.

“Carter 6 dropping tonight... I'm hearing there's Nicki, I'm hearing there's Baby, I'm hearing there's, of course, the goat, Drake... Hi Kendrick,” he teased.

But when the album dropped, neither Drake nor Nicki Minaj appeared on the tracklist.

Instead, features included Jelly Roll, Bono, BigXThaPlug, Big Sean, and Wayne’s son, Kameron Carter.

This comes shortly after Lil Wayne was seen performing Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” later claiming he didn’t know it was a Drake diss.

Kendrick has yet to respond to Akademiks or the release of Tha Carter VI.
